SAILING FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY
On Monday, the 26th of September, Sailability Shorncliffe hosted a special event.
We had 3 Patients of the Queensland Children's Hospital - Josh, Tyson, and Elijah - joining us on the day for On-the-Water experiences. They were joined by some of the Production Team of JUICED TV - Dan, Priscilla, and Elin - who will be making a documentary about the day. JUICED TV is a part of the Queensland Children's Hospital who make TV programs for the Patients of the Hospital as well as documentaries and news stories for sharing with mainstream and social media.
We were joined by special guests including Phil Lilliebridge -CEO of Kedron Wavell Ltd.,- Emily Robins - Venue Manger of The Sands Social Club, Sandgate, Peter Leech - President of The Rotary Club of Nundah and Rodney Lancashire representing the Mt Pleasant Freemasons Lodge and HAND HEART POCKET. HAND HEART POCKET is the charity arm of Freemasons Queensland, who in 2018 gave us a Gift of $60,000 which enable us to purchase our beautiful pontoon boat GRUMPY WALKER.
Our State Member for Sandgate, Stirling Hinchcliffe, had given his apologies as he has Cabintet commitments on the day. In a show of support for Sailability Shorncliffe, has offered to cover the cost of catering on the day. Thank you Stirling, for this wonderful gesture. Cr. Jared Cassidy also sent his apologies
This was a tremendous day and one that will provide long term memories for those who are attending. This will be especially so for Josh, Tyson and Elijah. Thank you to our host Queensland Cruising Yacht Club, for their assistance in allowing for the day to go ahead. See JUICED TV Page for photos.
