YOUR SAILING
You, our sailors with disability, are what Sailability is all about. Sailability Shorncliffe is committed to working with all. Our special equipment and boats mean that we can have you sailing in no time. Our fleet consists of 8 specially designed Access 303 sail boats named after local native birds, a pontoon boat affectionately called Grumpy Walker (named after a highly revered former volunteer) and the Safety 1 support boat.
At the dock our volunteers will help you in and out of your sailboat or the pontoon boat. We will take you out for about half an hour to let you experience the sights and sounds of the Shorncliffe waters. A time for you to relax and enjoy. And for those keen to learn to sail the skippers can provide you some training and the opportunity to sail the boat yourself.
Our sailing fee is $15. Carers who accompany you on the pontoon boat are free.
You will be asked to complete a Client Registration and Media Consent form on your first day. Click on them and review to ensure you have all your details available on the day.

SAFETY AND THE SUN
While you are waiting for your turn to sail you will put on a life jacket. We will have sunscreen for you. We'd also encourage you to wear sunglasses, a hat and sun protective clothing (reflection from the water can cause sunburn if you are not prepared). Also, it is a good idea to wear sensible shoes and socks. Occassionally, you might get a little bit wet, but your skipper will do his or her best to keep you dry.
AFTER YOUR SAIL
Your carer will escort you from the dock. You may wish to have a drink, try something from our barbeque or just take in the lovely views from our shaded spot with your friends.
We look forward to seeing you.
