PRESIDENT'S REPORT 2023/24

Firstly, I would like to thank all those who have helped run our club over the last year.

When I took on the Presidential role my aim was to review, improve and document our safety and learning programs. I must thank Ted Balneaves (previous President) for his support in making these changes.
Volunteers now run their particular area and they have documented how they run their part of our club.
This information is being stored on our website for all to see. Our website has been revamped and now includes lots of information including a documentary video.
My view is the better we are trained the better we will handle any adverse situation.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you who has worked to make this possible.

At our last General Meeting a volunteer kindly looked at the position of our club. He looked at the the three main issues that determine the wellbeing of any such club - finance, clients and volunteers.
Finance - We have significant monies in fixed deposits and additional monies held in our bank account.
We are no longer the best kept secret in Sandgate, we now have a number of business and clubs in the area wanting to support us thanks to the hard work of our volunteers.
Clients - Last Monday we had 46 clients and with our new program we closed the day and were walking out the gate by 1:30pm. I would suggest we require about 40 clients a day to break even financially.
Volunteers - We have attracted a number of new volunteers this year and the number that attend each Monday is always around the mid-30s.

I believe there is still a lot of work to be done but I am confident with your help we can make our club so much better. I would like to again thank all those who have stepped up and made improvements to our club this year.
In closing could I say this is our club and your help is always welcomed.

Peter Tyrrell, President Sailability Shorncliffe
